My business, At the Table Life Coaching & Motivational Speaking Services, was birthed in Corporate America. I successfully mentored and coached fellow co-workers, in addition to founding and leading a women's forum. In 2010, I sensed the timing to expand my boarders. With a desire to get my name, logo, and business beyond Corporate America, I began to explore different avenues. I began to volunteer for a couple of organizations in the community. I went on a marketing campaign to produce and distribute flyers and brochures promoting the business. I also supported other start-up small businesses as they were launched. It was a season of primarily pro bono activity, as I believed my seed would produce a harvest for me in return.

In July of 2010, I was invited to my first You Can Women in Business meeting. I must say, the meeting far exceeded my expectations. I found myself amongst a group of professional women who were excited about their businesses and willing to share their successes. This greatly encouraged and motivated me. I captured the vision of the organization that night, knowing I wanted to become a part of it.

YCWIB has been very instrumental in providing business support and exposure. Connecting with numerous business owners via YCWIB has opened new doors for me, as I have witnessed my speaking engagements and clientele increase. I must also add that the monthly meetings have afforded me the opportunity to share my services with the women through mini-workshops. I'm proud to be a member of YCWIB!

I am proud to be a member of You Can Women in Business (YCWIB). Being a You Can Woman means empowerment to me, empowerment in which women are seen as successful business owners who contribute to the betterment of our society. We are more than wives, mothers, etcetera; we are visionaries and entrepreneurs, as well. In a world where women are viewed as catty or attitudinal, the women of YCWIB support each other and offer successful tips to each other on how to make our businesses thrive. In addition to that, we are each other's clients. Prior to joining YCWIB, I had been searching for an organization that was geared to assisting in helping women professional and personally.
